Park and Ride

If an emergency ride is needed many local transits provide a free Emergency Ride Home program for carpoolers, vanpoolers, cyclists and bus riders. To find out about opportunities such as these please contact your local transit agency or call 704- 336- RIDE.

These databases are very private and make it easy to find people with similar commutes without disclosing your personal information.

CATS Vanpool has two programs: “Vanpool” and  “Minivan" that offer commuting options. These programs consist of a group of people who have similar commutes. CATS covers the cost of gas, maintenance, insurance and the Guaranteed Ride Home program, for those unexpected emergencies.

Share the Ride NC is a database with thousands of commuters. The database helps match commuters for carpool or vanpool arrangements with similar commutes and travel hours. There is no obligation or requirement for signing up.

Carpool from a lot near you! Save gas and time. Carpoolers have the advantage on the road because they can use the HOV (high occupancy vehicle) lane. The HOV lane is cost efficient, convenient and a good way to cut down on emission pollution.
