Cabarrus County Transit System
The Cabarrus County Transit System (CCTS) provides transportation to the elderly and those with low-income for necessary medical care and essential services. To schedule a reservation with CCTS call the CCTS Demand Response Center Monday- Friday 8am- 5pm at 704- 920- 2246.
Cabarrus Links
Cabarrus Links, part of CCTS, brings residents to work, shopping centers, and medical facilities. Cabarrus Links covers Harrisburg, Midland, and Mount Pleasant. Transfer locations are located throughout Concord and Kannapolis and allow riders to reach Concord Mills, Carolina Mall, CMC- Northeast, and the CK Rider bus hub. A one way ticket costs $1 and includes transfers to Concord or Kannapolis on CK Rider. Hours of operation: Monday- Friday from 6:30am- 7:00pm, holiday hours may vary. Concord Kannapolis Rider
Concord Kannapolis (CK) Rider serves Concord and
Kannapolis at Concord Mills Mall, North-East Medical
Center, Rowan Cabarrus Community College (South Campus) and more! Each bus can
safely secure two bicycles. Hours are Monday- Friday 5:30am- 8:30pm and Saturday 8:30am- 8:30pm. It costs $1.00 per ride, but students, the disabled, and senior citizens ride for only 50¢. Children under 5 ride free. Bring exact change because drivers cannot make change.
However, if you have a Fare Card then the overpay amount will be added to the
card for future rides. CK Rider connects with Concord Express, Rowan Express,
Cabarrus County Transit System and CATS.

Rowan County
Rowan Express
Rowan Express is divided into Rowan Express East (REE) and Rowan Express South (RES). The RES connects Salisbury, China Grove, Landis, Kannapolis with operating hours from 6:00am- 9:00am and 2:00pm- 5:00pm. The REE connects Salisbury, Granite Quarry, Rockwell and Faith with operating hours from 6:55am- 6:12pm. The fare for Rowan Express is $1.00 for regular riders and no charge for transfers and children under 5yrs. To contact the Rowan Express call 704- 216- 8888.
RITA
Rowan Individual Transportation Assistance: is a
non-emergency public transportation service designed for Rowan County residents
of any age. Reservations need to be made no later than
2:00pm the day before. RITA helps residents reach areas such as: medical or
health facilities, general shopping, and the bank. RITA connects to the Salisbury
Transit Bus Depot and Rowan Express. RITA is free for seniors 60 years of age and older and
individuals with disabilities, but
contributions are accepted and appreciated. The rural general public is
required to pay $3.00 per day.

Salisbury Transit
Salisbury Transit is a city bus system with three routes. The routes depart from the “Transfer Site” located on Depot Street. The Salisbury
Transit offers free transit rides on orange or red ozone action days. Commuters can call the
Transit Hotline (704) 216-7537 for next day ozone information. Hours of operation
are Monday- Friday 6:15am- 6:45pm and Saturday 8:45am- 4:15pm. Regular fares
are $1. The disabled and senior citizens ride for 50¢.

Salisbury Para-Transit
Salisbury Para- Transit: is for
those that have a functional disability that prevents them from using the fixed
bus routes. It is a handicapped accessible van service for Salisbury, Spencer
and East Spencer. A request for an
application is needed to use this service. Hours of operation are Monday-
Friday 6:30am- 6:00pm and cost is $2.00 one way.

Regional
Charlotte Area Transit System
CATS (Charlotte Area Transit System) is the largest of its kind between Atlanta, GA
and Washington, DC. CATS provides service locally and regionally, within a
six-county area. The services include light rail, commuter rail, bus rapid
transit and bus service. Most operate Monday through Saturday 4:49am- 2:00am
and Sunday 5:25am- 2:00am.

NC Amtrak
North Carolina’s Amtrak offers a reliable way to travel with a total of 16 city Amtrak stops and schedules. Some of the stops include Charlotte, Kannapolis, High Point, and Salisbury. Limited short and long term parking is available at no cost. For those that bike to Amtrak locations, bike racks are available on a few specified trains. To purchase tickets, riders can go online at Amtrak.com, call 1-800-USA-RAIL or at in-station automated ticket kiosks.
